The transformative role of technology and innovation in development

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Harnessing the transformative potential of technology is key to the successful implementation of the post-2015 Development Agenda. This requires a scaling up of support for national innovation capacity-building, particularly in developing countries. The ability to measure and keep track of progress in this regard is central to making effective, evidenced-based policy choices for development.

Soumitra Dutta, Anne and Elmer Lindseth Dean and Professor of Management, Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University, and founder of the Global Innovation Index, presented the results of the GII 2014 at a side event at the UN Headquarters this past Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
